Attendees will have the opportunity to discover local businesses, meet business professionals, learn more about what local organizations have to offer, and enjoy a variety of food truck offerings. With free admission for the public, the event provides businesses with an opportunity to connect directly with both fellow professionals and members of the community. 🤝 Community Connections & Local Opportunities Hosted at the Brownwood Event Center Complex, the Business Expo & Food Truck Cook-off creates a welcoming space for businesses to showcase their products and services, build new connections, and increase their visibility throughout Brown County. The event is open to the public, making it a great opportunity for community members to meet local businesses while enjoying the food truck cook-off. 🎟️ Registration & Info The Business Expo & Food Truck Cook-off 2026 takes place Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Brownwood Event Center Complex. Admission is free for the public. Recurring monthly on the 3rd Thursday Calling all Pokémon Trainers! Join us for Pokémon Trade Night at R&R Cards and Games, happening every third Thursday of the month. When: Third Thursday of every month Time: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM This event is all about bringing the Pokémon community together! Come trade cards with other Trainers, show off your collection, and hunt for those cards you’ve been missing. We’ll also be hosting Pokémon box breaks throughout the night for even more excitement! 🔭 Stargazing Night at Lake Brownwood State Park Experience the wonder of the night sky during a special evening of stargazing at Lake Brownwood State Park. Guests will have the opportunity to view celestial objects through telescopes while learning about stars, constellations, and other fascinating sights overhead from knowledgeable volunteers. Whether attending for the first time or returning as a seasoned skywatcher, this program offers an unforgettable look at the universe above. ✨ Starry Skies & Shared Discovery The program takes place in the park’s Day Use Area, where visitors are encouraged to bring a folding chair or blanket to relax under the stars. To help preserve everyone’s night vision, guests should bring a red light instead of a white flashlight and be mindful of vehicle headlights when arriving and departing. Astronomy enthusiasts are also welcome to bring their own telescopes and share their passion for the night sky with fellow participants. 🌌 Admission & Information This program is included with park admission and is weather dependent. Guests who would like to volunteer as astronomy educators can contact the park staff for more information. Visitors are encouraged to call the park during operating hours before attending to check the status of the program if weather conditions are uncertain.

Howard Payne University will welcome Grammy Award-winning Christian artist Chris Tomlin to Brownwood for a free community concert and night of worship on Sunday, September 20, at 6:30 p.m. The evening will take place at the outdoor stage at the Brownwood Event Center, bringing the community together for an uplifting night of live music, worship, and fellowship. Originally scheduled for April, the concert was postponed due to severe weather. Howard Payne University has since worked with Chris Tomlin’s team, the City of Brownwood, and community partners to bring the event back to the community. Admission is free and open to everyone.
